Exam success

Congratulations to everyone who took exams last term! We had 100% passes in the ballet, tap and modern examinations in November 2017 with EVERYONE gaining Merit or above and a total of 24 Distinctions. The top three scores were above 90%

You all worked so hard and danced beautifully. Well done - be very proud of yourselves.

New fun dance class for age 2-4 year olds. Spaces available to start now!
Tuesdays 15:30-16:00 at South Ascot Church Hall.

Take a journey on Melody Bear’s Fun Bus stopping at the Games, Number and Musical stop. The final stop is Melody Bear’s Tip Tap Toe stop for lots of fun tap dance ideas including the ‘Boogie Woogie Bend and Bounce’, ‘Magic Shoes’, ‘Disco Bears’, ‘Hawaiian Tap’, ‘Melody Bear’s Cheerleading Song’ and her ‘Line Dancing’ to name a few.

Rhythm and tempo, beats and sounds are explored in fun creative exercises in our early years tap dancing syllabus

Join us for watching week with drinks & nibbles!

Please make sure that children and students have their hair in a neat ballet bun for ballet and neat ponytail for modern and tap. Please wear uniform only.

Monday July 3rd
You are invited for drinks and nibbles while watching classes. Please send children in first while you collect your drink and nibbles so they are settled and ready to perform.

Tinkerbelles: 15.30-16.00
Pre Primary: 16.00-16.30
Standard 1: 16.30-17.00
Grade 1/Standard 2: 17.00-17.30 Grade 3: You are invited to watch the last half an hour. Class starts at 17.30 but watch from 18.00-18.30 Arrive from 17.30 for drinks and nibbles.
18.30-19.50: Advanced 1 : Arrive from 18.30 for drinks and nibbles and watch last hour.

Tuesday 4th July:

Normal classes, not watching.

Thursday July 6th & Friday July 7th
You are invited for drinks and nibbles while watching classes.

Thursday: Tap 16.00-16.30
Grade 4 Ballet 17.15-18.15 Arrive from 17.15 for drinks and nibbles and watch from 17.30
Intermediate Foundation: 18.15-19.00 Arrive early for drinks and nibbles
Intermediate/ Advanced: 19.00-19.45 Arrive early for drinks and nibbles
Friday: Watching all classes

NEW! Adult tap classes on Fridays

Friday Mornings @ 9.20-10.20: Free taster session on Friday 9th June. All levels welcome - its fun, absorbing and good exercise.

Jane says - "I tried tap dancing for the first time ever a few months ago and I love it ... it didn't matter that I had never done any tap dancing before and I could do a few steps from the very first session. And, there's lots of different kinds of music to dance to. I'd highly recommend giving it a go ..."

Congratulations: Fire and Ice

Congratulations to everyone who danced in Fire and Ice at the Cordes Hall this weekend. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the show a success behind the scenes and thank you to everyone who came to watch. We hope you enjoyed it! Fire and Ice show: 18 & 19 March

A little dusting of snow in South Ascot this week ... but if you want to see something really magical,
get your tickets for the Dancing Dreams Fire & Ice Show in March!

All the children are now working really hard on their dances for the show ... skaters, penguins and lots more ... and will be really excited to show their performances.

Bring grandparents, aunties, friends for a lovely afternoon show at the Cordes Hall in Sunninghill (which if you don't know it, has a proper stage and raked seating so everyone will have a good view).

Nutcracker workshops

A lovely Christmas treat experience - working with a professional dancer, Emily and learning to dance routines to music from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. Well done all who took part.

Exam successes

Here are some of the girls who took exams this term. Everyone gained a merit or above, and the highest mark achieved was 89%. WELL DONE!

Tapathon 2016

Thank you Mel for teaching the 2016 Tapathon routine. A big group of tappers from all around the area came to LVS School to take part in this year's tapathon event and to raise money for Children in Need. SO close to beating the world record. Next year we'll do it ...
