“Katherine is having an amazing time [at Ballet West] … this would never have been possible without the dedication, guidance and talents of her amazing ballet teacher Vanessa Gardner.”

Spanish dance
Spanish Dance is an asset to any dance student, especially if you wish to make a career in dance. It is a skill used in ballets, operas, musicals and as an art form in its own right. Spanish Dance classes cover the study of flamenco (the most well known aspect of Spanish Dance). As well as studying Escuela Bolera (the very balletic form of Spanish Dance, made famous by nineteenth century ballerinas such as Fanny Elssler). We also do semi-classical or stylised Spanish Dance (Danza Estilizada) and Regional Spanish Dances (such as Sevillanas, Fandangos and Jotas).
All classes are run by Natasha Jervis and include the use of castanets and skirts, and as time goes on students will have the opportunity to master the fan, hat and shawl. Classes will be involved in Flamenco Express Ltd Workshops and informal assessments as well as performances in School shows and in Flamenco Fiestas.
