General questions: children & teenagers
What class will my child be placed in?
We understand that a child might feel most comfortable with their own age group, and we will aim for this wherever possible. For older beginners or less experienced pupils, we will aim for the best compromise between age and ability. There are often opportunities to overlap classes so that pupils can benefit from some extra teaching at a lower level to enable them to get up to speed more easily in the classes with pupils near their own age.
What does my child need to wear?
For a taster lesson, wear comfortable leggings and a t-shirt. For classes in ballet, pupils will wear a leotard that is coloured according to their grade, ballet shoes, tights or socks, and with their hair in a bun. For classes in tap & modern, pupils will wear our school leotard and black dance leggings with tap shoes.
Can I stay with my child?
For the first lesson it is fine to stay and watch. After that we will have sessions once or twice a year where you can come and watch the progress your child has made. For Little Bear Feet parents participate with the child every week.
