It is with great sadness and regret that Fenella Barker is unable to teach this term due to on-going health issues. However, I have been very fortunate to find a new teacher to continue the syllabus classes. Natasha is already known to many of you, having introduced Spanish Dance into the school many years ago, choreographing and organising performances for students in the West End and Guildford as well as choreographing many of the dances for "Fire and Ice" which we performed at Camberley Theatre. Natasha trained at our school with myself as well as Gillian Dawson. She attended Cecchetti Associates and London Junior Ballet before training full time at Elmhurst School for Dance and The Rambert School. Natasha danced with the Corfu City Dancers and has performed numerous acting roles with Stage Theatre Company. She holds a BTech National Diploma in Dance. Welcome back to everyone as term starts today!
We are very pleased and excited to announce that we are now a Recognised School of the Council for Dance, Education & Training. A Recognised School is a pre or non-vocational dance or musical theatre school that is committed to putting the safety of its pupils first and meets requirements of the Council's code of professional practice standards. Tickets still available to see the Alice in Wonderland matinee performance on Friday 19th December at the Royal Opera House at 2pm.
The performance lasts for 3 hours approximately and the price is £28. We will have a clear view and will be in the Amphitheatre. I will not be providing transport but it is an easy journey by train from Sunningdale to Waterloo and then to Covent Garden. Please let me know as soon as possible how many tickets you would like. Please check the seating plan to make sure you are happy with our position and also you can see part of a rehearsal on You Tube! The box office recommends that the Ballet is suitable for ages 5+. Vanessa Gardner was thrilled to attend the International Dance Teacher Conference this summer. She will be beginning the new term with lots of new ideas and enthusiasm from all that she learnt at the Conference. Just a few of the highlights of the event were:
